Considered one of the world’s greatest natural wonders, the spectacular OKAVANGO DELTA is home to a rich variety of wildlife and an abundance of birds. During the dry season (May - Oct) floodwaters from the Angolan highlands flow into the delta creating a labyrinth of waterways; conversely when rain falls here in the delta (Nov - Apr), the delta’s water levels are at their lowest.
Choose your camp bearing in mind the activities available and water levels: some camps offer purely water-based game viewing by mokoro (canoe) or boat, some focus on game drives and at others a variety of activities is available, depending on water levels. Outside the protected Moremi Game Reserve walking safaris and night drives may also be possible. Choose a water-based camp for the classic Okavango water wilderness experience or one offering game drives to maximise your wildlife viewing, or combine the two for the best of both worlds!
