Fly from Hurghada to Cairo, located about 400 km or four to five hours by car and two hours by flight, to visit the Great Pyramids in the Giza Plateau, along with the legendary Sphinx. You can also make a daytrip to Luxor to visit the Valley of Kings, about three hours’ drive from Hurghada. While here, you can also enjoy a felucca or sailboat ride along the river Nile.

Hurghada is sunny throughout the year, though the summer highs can cross 40°C. The best time to visit Hurghada is between April and June, and again from September to November. The idyllic coastal resort of Soma Bay, located 45 minutes from Hurghada International Airport is perfect for a winter sun break. Soma Bay also offers several diving sites nearby. The shallow waters of Hurghada, which is sunny and windy all year round, are popular among kite-surfers.
