TOBAGO HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS

SCARBOROUGH on the rugged Atlantic coast, is a pretty town tumbling down the hillside to the harbour. The main interest is the historical site of Fort King George dating back to 1779. You can learn about the history at the gallery there and enjoy wonderful views at sunset.

LITTLE TOBAGO Also known as Bird of Paradise Island, this 450 acre offshore island is a short but choppy boat crossing from Speyside. You will be rewarded with wonderful birdlife that draws many ornithologists and naturalists including Sir David Attenborough who filmed the ‘The Trials of Life’ series here.

PIGEON POINT & BUCCOO REEF Pigeon Point is a well-known beach in Tobago with a wide stretch of white sand facing the calm Caribbean Sea. Many boat trips leave from here to the marine park at Buccoo Reef. Water clarity is best December to May. It is common to combine a visit to Buccoo Reef with Nylon Pools, a sandy-bottomed natural pool with beautiful clear, shallow water for bathing. Less busy dive sites include the fast moving Columbus Passage offering excellent drift-diving and the wreck of the Maverick off Mt Irvine.

WATERWHEEL PARK Situated at Arnos Vale on the site of an old sugar plantation, the park encompasses
a nature reserve with fabulous bird life, a restaurant, museum and gift shop.
